Breast fibroadenomaMorphology of the breast fibroadenoma

First of all I have to say that breast fibroadenoma is a benign tumor. Fibroadenoma has an accurate borders, it doesn't have a capsule, painless, movable, it doesn't connected with a skin. Breast fibroadenoma involves connective and glandular tissues. The source are the lobules of mammary gland. I saw a breast fibroadenoma several times. So, what I can say ? What it looks like ? It really has clear borders, it's bounded from all of the sides with the exception of one part where it is strongly connected with the tissues. There is the place which a surgeon has to dissect so that to take away the tumor. The size of the breast fibroadenoma varies from several millimetres to several centimetres.

That's a rare good sign.

If breast fibroadenoma has less than one centimetres in diameter it will be hard to differentiate it from a cyst during the ultrasonic diagnostics. It frequently appears among the teenagers as the result of the menstrual cycle disorders. It frequently occurs after contraceptive pills usage and an abortion. Breast fibroadenoma often disappears after the pubescence and it become bigger during the pregnancy. So you see that it is a good signal. If the neoplasm reacts on different gormonal changes in your organism it is a good signal , it means , it is very possible that the neoplasm has a benign character.Remember that you can find the breast fibroadenoma during a self examination.

Diagnostics

The diagnostic procedures for breast fibroadenoma detection include :

  1. Ultrasonic diagnostics .
  2. Mammography.
  3. Biopsy.

Irrespectively to a size ot a tumor you have to make a biopsy so that to diagnose the breast fibroadenoma correctly.

Treatment of the breast fibroadenoma

The surgical method is the most effective and the most usable method. The surgical method includes the sector resection of the tumor and surrounding it tissues. The important thing is to make operative histological confirmation that the tumor has a benign character. It is possible that breast fibroadenoma will appear again after some time in the area of postoperational stitch but it occurs very rarely.
