Interesting scientific fact that the hair you can see is a string of not alive keratin cells. You can find hair everywhere on the human body except the soles of our feet and palms of our hands . Keratin ( protein ) generated in hair follicles . Follicles are placed in the upper layer of skin . As soon as follicles generated new group of hair cells , old group of cells are being pushed out thought the surface of the skin . Hair raised approximately 1 centimeter per month .
Hair loss or how it is sometimes called baldness as a rule strikes adults . You think only they need to worry about it ? That is not true thought . I shall tell you and it is well known fack that it also strikes teens , but in a few cases . It may be a sign that something going on in your organism . But do not worry so much - it may be mean that you just not eating right .
So , the causes of hair loss contains :
- underlying disease ( lupus or diabetes )
- stress
- illness
- some medicines
- hormonal problems ( for example if your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive )
- after pregnancy
- certain infections
- deficient diet
- cancer treatments
After an illness or a surgery treatment , you may lose a large amount of hair. This hair loss as the result of the stress of the illness is temporary.
I said hormonal problems , I mean for example some hormonal disorders such as overactive of underactive of thyroid gland .
Some medicines such as allopurinol, apirin, l-asparaginase, bleomycin, boric acid, bromocriptine, carbamazepine, carbon monoxide, chloramphenicol, cimetidine, colchicine, clofibrate, clomiphene citrate, hydroxychloroquine, ibuprofen, idoxuridine, indandione, indomethacin, interferon, iodine, isophosphamide, levodopa, lithium, mepacrine, mercury, mesalazine, methisazone, methotrexate, para aminosalicylate, phenindione, phenprocoumon, potassium thiocyanate, procainamide, propanolol . Yes , and this is not full list of remedies that can cause hair loss .
Fungus infection, ringworm may be a cause of hair loss . You can cure it by oral medication. Thay begins with little patches of scaling that may expand and result in destroyed hair, redness, swelling, and oozing. This epidemic disease is most usual in children .
Pregnancy can cause a hair loss about three months after delivery . High level of hormons over a period of pregnancy cause woman's organism to keep hair that would
normally fall out. When the hormones back to the before-pregnancy
levels , hair falls out and after some time the normal raise and loss
cycle starts again.
