Melanoma - the most interesting cancer tumor

Melanoma is the most interesting cancer tumor. You will ask me what can be interesting in that tumor. I shall explain it to you. The main peculiarities of this cancer tumor are firstly that it is the most malignant cancer tumor, secondly it is unique cancer tumor - only 1% in structure of all skin tumors , thirdly when there are metastases in organism and when the main tumor disappear the other little tumors ( metastases ) are disappearing too and this is the main peculiarity of this cancer tumor . Matastasis is the spreading of cancer cells through lymphatic and blood system in organism tissues, it is indication of malignancy.

Melanoma is like a big cosmic ship (tumor) with some another but a bit smaller ships around it (metestases). You can destroy the enemy only when you will have destroyed the main ship where is the main center , comand center . After that another ships around the main ship will have destroyed too . Isn't it interesting ? Is there any connection between these neoplasms(tumors)? I don't know . And I believe that nobody's know is there any connection.

Usually melanoma located on skin ( in 70- 80 % ) , but rarely it located in eye area ( in 5- 7% of causes ) and very rarely it located in another organs and tissues ( esophagus , rectum ).

Let's see what can cause melanoma :

1. Genotype - white skin , blue eyes , light hair and pink freckles.
2. Solar burn.
3. Ultraviolet light.
4. Nevus.
5. Xeroderma pigmentosum.
6. Personal anamnesis of melanoma.
7. Age over 50 years.
8. The male sex.

When you can suspicion that your nevus has become malignant :

1. Itching nevus.
2. Falling of hair.
3. Changing of skin colour.
4. Ulceration.
5. Expansion.
6. Bleeding.

Dermatoscopy is the best diagnostical action. The main parameters of dermatoscopy are :

A — asymmetry

B — border irregularity

C — color

D — diameter

E — evolving

 

The final diagnosis may be esteblished only after histological research. Computer tomography is very useful because it halps to find metastases in organism. You remember that it is the most malignant tumor.

 

Treatment of melanoma includes, surgical excision, chemotherapy, immunotherapy/biochemotherapy, gene therapy, radiation therapy .
